About one-third of the people who visited Opry Mills during its grand opening weekend were tourists or conventioneers, according to the Mills Corp.

According to surveys of 3,100 people at Opry Mills conducted between May 11 and May 14, more than 30 percent of the people there came from more than 50 miles away. Those visitors represented 47 states and 23 foreign countries.
