Belmont College of Medicine names founding dean

Belmont University has named Bill Bates the founding dean of its new College of Medicine. 

Bates currently serves as a professor of obstetrics and gynecology and as director of reproductive endocrinology at Meharry Medical College. He previously was the vice president for health services at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and served in various leadership capacities for the University of Tennessee Medical Center, the University of Mississippi Medical Center and the College of Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina.
