Gerst Haus building to be demolished

The building once home to long-time German restaurant Gerst Haus — a structure that has served, to an extent, as a gateway for those traveling from downtown to the East Nashville — will be demolished.

The ownership entity of the property, and LLC that includes, according to a Metro document, Nitesh Patel, could not be reached for comment regarding the future of the 0.67-acre property. The LLC acquired the property in December 2018 for $3.1 million, according to Metro records. The address is 301 Woodland St. The owners of the property also own a Holiday Inn Express & Suites Nashville at 714 Spence Lane.
