Fox will not run for mayoral seat

David Fox — who lost a mayoral bid to Megan Barry in September 2015 — will not challenge Mayor David Briley in what is expected to be an August special election.

Fox posted on his Facebook page Thursday that financial costs, the limited odds of winning the seat via an abbreviated campaign and the potential stress on his family as reasons for his not entering the race.
