Former Southwind CEO nominated to Surgery Partners board

John Deane

The directors of Surgery Partners have nominated the founder and CEO of health care consulting firm Southwind Health Partners and former chairman of Advisory Board Consulting to join their ranks later this month.

If elected by Surgery Partners shareholders, John Deane will fill the seat being vacated by private equity investor and former Wall Street analyst Adam Feinstein, who is not standing for re-election at the expiration of his term. Deane launched Southwind in 1998 and grew it to about 40 people before selling to Advisory Board in 2009 in a deal that ended up being worth more than $20 million. He left Advisory Board last year and co-founded the John and Natasha Deane Foundation, which focused on health and well-being, workforce readiness, the environment and racial tension and discrimination.
