When Nashville Predators General Manager David Poile traded for and signed center Kyle Turris to a six-year, $36 million extension back in 2017, it surely wasn’t just to have a life-sized, $6 million press box ornament for the holidays.

Following a down year in 2018 that produced only seven goals and 23 points in 55 games, productive showings in the IIHF World Championship with Team Canada and Predators’ training camp, Turris appeared to be back on track early in the season.
