Vandenburg's appeals denied, sentence upheld

The sentence for former Vanderbilt football player and convicted rapist Brandon Vandenburg will remain unchanged.

A Tennessee appeals court last week denied all 15 issues raised by Vandenburg’s attorneys, according to multiple reports. The appeal did result in one small change: one charge of aggravated rape was reduced to attempted aggravated rape because that was what the jury in the first of Vandenburg’s two trials found.
