Kevin Stallings and the University of Pittsburgh reached an agreement Tuesday on a buyout that formally ends the former basketball coach’s association with the school.

Terms were not released but the process was contentious in the two and a half weeks since March 8, when Stallings was fired after his second season with that program. He signed a six-year deal when he took the job in 2016 after 17 seasons as Vanderbilt’s head coach.
