Metro plans to hire TennCare director

Another senior aide to outgoing Gov. Bill Haslam announced her departure Monday, as TennCare Director Wendy Long said she would be the new director of health for the Metro Government of Nashville and Davidson County, pending Metro Council approval.

Long has led the state’s Medicaid program since Haslam appointed her to the role in 2016. She previously served as deputy director and chief medical officer of TennCare.
