A New Jersey-based lender has opened a Nashville office that will focus on homebuilders and is being led by veterans of Cottingham Capital Partners and a Chicago firm.

BD Capital has leased space above the Hopdoddy restaurant in the heart of Hillsboro Village for its outpost, the company's first beyond its home base. Founded in 2015, BD Capital is a subsidiary of B&D Holdings, which owns and manages more than 4.5 million square feet of real estate. BD Capital has loaned more than $225 million and its average loan is about $450,000.
