Vanderbilt University is set to receive up to $46 million in funding to work toward developing a vaccine to protect against all alphaviruses. 

Federal agency Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) awarded the funds to Vanderbilt, which will lead the research that includes eight institutions and 14 investigators. Jens Meiler, VU professor of chemistry, will serve as principal investigator for the project, according to a release.
