Three Republican Senators, including Tennessee's Bob Corker, yesterday introduced legislation to end the Housing Affordable Modification Program, or HAMP.

The program was intended to help more than 7 million homeowners modify their mortgages to avoid foclosure. The three argue that it has only permanently modified about a half million loans and out of nearly 1.5 million temporary modifications, nearly 800,000 have failed.
