Activist investor Sardar Biglari has failed in his efforts to gain three seats on the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Board of Directors — with the announcement coming as the company’s stock increased almost 3 percent in value.

Cracker Barrel issued a release Thursday afternoon noting that the preliminary vote count from a proxy solicitor indicates shareholders have voted to elect each of the company’s 10 nominees to its board.
