Brentwood doctor and wife plead guilty to IRS charges

A Brentwood radiologist and his wife have pleaded guilty to conspiracy to defraud the United States in the collection of income taxes, according to an announcement from David Rivera, U.S. attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee.

According to the indictment, Jeffrey Cephus McCoy Jr., 70, and Andra McCoy, 68, filed false tax returns from 2003 to 2007, which included fictitious withholding amounts, false forms and unreported taxable income. The McCoys also submitted false documents to the Internal Revenue Service and placed their assets in the names of nominees, according to the indictment.
