Airport authority fires CEO

The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority Board of Commissioners on Wednesday unanimously voted to terminate with cause the contract of President and CEO Rob Wigington.

Kevin Sharp, a former federal judge in Nashville and Wigington’s attorney, called the move a retaliation for Wigington’s medical leave, which he began in July for a liver transplant. Wigington had been set to reassume his duties last month, but was prevented from doing so, according to a statement from Sharp.
