When the Tennessee Titans open the preseason Saturday against the San Diego Chargers (7 p.m., WKRN-TV Ch. 2) the next — and possibly most important — phase of player evaluation commences.

Following an offseason during which the franchise changed its head coach and its general manager, few jobs — or even roster spots — are guaranteed. There have been some serious changes already. But as management makes the cuts needed to get to the 53-man regular-season roster limit, things will get even more interesting.
