Surgical center proposed for Midtown area

A group of oral surgeons and dentists have proposed a $4.6 million single-specialty ambulatory surgical center that would provide sustainable access to care for pediatric and TennCare patients.

According to a certificate-of-need request filed with the Tennessee Health Services and Development Agency, the proposal is in response to the advanced negotiations and potential sale of Special Surgery Center, an oral surgical office currently focused on at-risk communities. The sale of the facility could potentially end its focus on pediatric and TennCare patients with oral-maxillofacial and dental surgical needs.
