Heading into the 2026 MLS season, offense wasn’t nearly the concern for Nashville SC as it had been in many previous years.

The Boys in Gold had set records in 2025 for most MLS goals in one year (58) and most goals across all competitions in one year (75). Sam Surridge and Hany Mukhtar had combined for 40 goals, and the team was adding crafty playmaker Cristian Espinoza to boot.
