Predators' Tomasino battling for more ice time

With just a few minutes left in the first period of Monday’s game, Predators forward Philip Tomasino took a pass from Tommy Novak, cut hard from the right wing toward the net and then — after slowing his pace just a bit — somehow managed to flip a puck over the shoulder of Ottawa’s 6-foot-7 goalie Mads Sogaard and into the net.

It was one of the more impressive finishes of the Predators season, a reminder of the kind of talent that led Nashville to select Tomasino in the first round of the 2019 NHL Draft.
