It started off with what sounded like a single “Booo!!” — one that that nevertheless empowered hundreds of fans to open their mouths and jump right in.

Before you knew it, Bridgestone Arena was experiencing one of the stranger moments in its history: a solid segment of Nashville supporters loudly booing during the playing of the Canadian national anthem, which was sung by Cathy Mullins prior to Monday’s game between the Predators and Ottawa Senators.
