In the nearly eight years since he last won a PGA title, Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker had suffered through the loss of his mother and undergone experimental surgery on his sternum.

So when the 45-year-old former Vanderbilt star shot a final-round, 5-under 66 to capture the Myrtle Beach Classic on Sunday — his first PGA tour win since August 2018 — it made for a poignant moment at Dunes Golf and Beach Club.
