The last thing Vanderbilt’s men’s basketball team needed was another early season wake-up call.

But that’s just what the Commodores got in their season opener on Tuesday at Memorial Gymnasium, losing a 68-62 stunner to Presbyterian (1-0) of the Big South Conference. The Blue Hose finished with a 5-27 record last year, finishing their season with 18 consecutive losses.
