Dick Barnett, one of Tennessee State University’s most distinguished alumni, died April 26 at the age of 88.

Barnett led Tennessee A&I State College (now TSU) to three consecutive NAIA national championships from 1957 to 1959, twice earning NAIA tournament MVP honors.
