Belmont women's basketball advances to WBIT championship game

The Belmont women's basketball team is headed to the 2025 Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT) championship game following a 66-57 win over 4-seed Villanova on Monday afternoon at historic Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. 

The title game appearance will be the first of any kind in a national postseason tournament for the program. A No. 3 seed, Belmont (26-12) will face 2-seed Minnesota (24-11) of the Big Ten in the WBIT final on Wednesday at 5 p.m. The game will air on ESPN2.
