Downtown Nashville institution Varallo’s, billed as the city’s longest-operational restaurant, has been sold.

Fox 17 reports local businessman Bob Peabody has bought the family-owned chili parlor business, which has operated in various downtown locations since 1907, when Frank Varallo Sr. opened the doors to the still-quirky eatery. The current Varallo’s has an address of 239 Fourth Ave. N.
