Michigan auto supplier to shut down 'Boro plant

A Michigan company that makes foam, rubber and plastic parts for the automotive sectors is closing its Murfreesboro plant because the tight local labor market has made it too hard and too expensive to find the right workers.

Executives with Unique Fabricating say they will close the doors to their Rutherford County facility in January, putting 30 people out of work. The company's 71,000-square-foot plant sits on Haley Road, south of the Stones River Mall area. Work now being done there will be moved to plants in Indiana and Georgia.
