HealthStream pays $25M for nurse scheduling app

HealthStream executives have acquired a five-year-old Oregon company that has developed a scheduling and communication application used by more than 260,000 nurses monthly.

Downtown-based HealthStream has paid $25 million in cash for NurseGrid, which is based in Portland and employs about 20 people. The $25 million includes the value of the 10 percent stake HealthStream took in NurseGrid about a year ago as it was rolling out its hStream platform.
