Ascension Saint Thomas strategy chief promoted to corporate role

The leaders of national health system Ascension have tapped local executive Amber Sims to help them devise an overarching strategic plan.

Sims has been named senior vice president of strategy for St. Louis-based Ascension after five years as chief strategy officer at Ascension Saint Thomas, the nine-hospital regional system. In her new role, which she started Monday, Sims will help prioritize investments across the parent organization’s portfolio, which spans 150 hospitals and more than 50 senior living facilities in 20 states and the District of Columbia.
