Martin Erat, one of the Nashville Predators’ all-time leading scorers, will be captain of the Czech Republic hockey team at next month’s Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

The 36-year-old, who has extensive experience with his country’s national team, was selected for the role Monday when the Czechs finalized their roster. He has been a member of three previous Olympic teams, including the bronze medalists in 2006. Erat also has played on four World Championships squads and one World Junior Championships teams.
