Built buys Iowa software firm

Booming software developer Built Technologies is expanding its offerings via the acquisition of an Iowa company that streamlines the building contractor payment process. The Grassmere-based company also has formed a division to house its new technology and other construction payment services.

Terms of Built’s purchase of five-year-old lienwaivers.io are not being disclosed. The Sioux City-based company employs about a dozen people and markets a platform that ties together construction accounting and project management software to issue lien waivers, documents from a contractor, supplier or lessor showing those companies have been paid and are waiving future lien rights to the property they worked on. That service will sit adjacent to Built’s core offering, which automates construction lending.
