Sweet Sleep names executive director

Gary Hauk — who recently completed a 30-plus-year career at LifeWay Christian Resources — has been named executive director for Sweet Sleep, Inc.

A Nashville-based nonprofit, Sweet Sleep provides beds for orphaned and abandoned children worldwide.Hauk (pictured), who most recently served LifeWay as director of publishing for church resources, will be responsible for overseeing Sweet Sleep’s finances, development, services, programs, employees and relationships with strategic stakeholders.“We know that [Hauk’s] collaborative style and his heart for missions will be a great asset to our organization,” David Ward, Sweet Sleep board chairman, said in a release. “The board is confident that he will decisively lead the management team as we grow and expand our effort to provide more beds both domestically and around the world.”Hauk holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Baylor University and a master of divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He earned a doctor of ministry degree at the Graduate Seminary at Phillips University.Hauk is a co-founder of Brightstone, a Franklin-based ministry for adults with developmental disabilities.
