Truck dealer buys Florida peer

A local truck and bus dealer has acquired a Florida-based peer via a deal that more than doubles its network of stores and its employee base.

Terms of Cumberland International Trucks’ purchase of Maudlin International Trucks aren’t being disclosed. Maudlin was founded more than two decades ago and ran six locations in Central and Northeast Florida to go with the four local outposts Cumberland operates. Combined, the entities employ about 385 people, with Maudlin — which has been led by father-son team John and Mike Maudlin — bringing about 210.
