Meharry-Vanderbilt Alliance names ED

Dr. Karen Winkfield, a Wake Forest University professor and oncologist, has been named executive director of the Meharry-Vanderbilt Alliance. She will begin her tenure Nov. 1, according to a release.

Winkfield succeeds Dr. Consuelo Wilkins, who has served as the alliance’s director since 2012. Wilkins is the co-principal investigator of Vanderbilt’s Clinical and Translational Science Award, a professor of medicine at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and VUMC vice president for health equity.
