Gun startup to hire 100 here

The leaders of a New York company that makes combat apparel and equipment will soon set up a gun manufacturing operation that will hire 100 people in the next five years.

Vantage LLC will invest $5 million to move into a 22,000-square-foot facility at 1657 Murfreesboro Road near Donelson Pike, where it will make and assemble a new shotgun. The startup company was co-founded by Caleb Crye and Gregg Thompson, who also launched Crye Precision in 2000. Crye Precision is based in the Brooklyn Navy Yard and makes “uncompromising gear for uncompromising individuals” in the military, law enforcement and civilian sectors.
