Woman sues Tractor Supply for alleged copyright infringement

A Washington state woman is suing Tractor Supply Co. for $150,000 in damages, charging the Brentwood-based operation infringed upon the copyright she had for a yard art piece.

In her suit — originally filed in U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan, and transferred this week to the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee — Angela Kae Walls claims she created an original metal work of fanciful art called Fireball the Horse. The suit states Walls “duly and properly filed for a copyright registration” and issued a certification of registration on the piece.
