Supreme Court won’t hear Opry Mills flood appeal

The Tennessee Supreme Court decided last week not to hear an appeal from the owners of Opry Mills Mall over its insurers’ decision to cut its insurance payout by $150 million in the wake of the 2010 flood that closed the shopping center for almost two years.

A Davidson County court in 2015 ruled the Opry Mills ownership was owed $200 million by the insurance companies, led by Arch Insurance Co., but the Tennessee Court of Appeals in January reversed that decision, agreeing with the insurance companies that the shopping center was due just $50 million.
