Nashville-based health care staffing company Shearwater Health announced Tuesday the appointment of Steve Heintz as chief operating officer, effective immediately.

Heintz succeeds Todd Silmon, who served the company for more than five years, helping it expand in the Philippines and, most recently, in India. Silmon will remain with Shearwater through the transition.
