This year, Nashville Mayor Freddie O'Connell proclaimed Sept. 13-19 as Healthcare Sessions Week, recognizing the local healthcare industry's more than 900 companies, more than 370,000 jobs and $72.1 billion in annual economic output.

The proclamation also came as a recognition of the Nashville Healthcare Council's annual conference, Healthcare Sessions, which was held Sept. 13-15. The event convenes industry leaders not only from Tennessee but also from around the world, elevating Nashville's status as "The Healthcare City" — as mentioned in the proclamation.
