A Vanderbilt University Medical Center doctor is one of five recipients of a grant from Kaiser Permanente funding research projects centered around AI and machine learning in health care. 

Peter Embí, professor and chair of the VUMC Department of Biomedical Informatics, will investigate AI assistance in diagnoses, risk assessment and randomized trials over a three-year period.
