The Tennessee Department of Health will receive $5.4 million to fund efforts to address opioid overdoses from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The money is the second grant from the CDC’s Overdose Data in Action program to be awarded to TDH, according to a Thursday press release. The first grant in 2019 created the High Impact Area program, which produces an annual report as part of the Opioid Response Coordination Office.
