Brentwood-based behavioral health provider Acadia Healthcare has been fined $1.4 million by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Acadia was one of seven public companies fined earlier this week for allegedly violating SEC whistleblower protection rules by instituting certain confidentiality clauses, including the requiring of employees to waive their right to possible whistleblower monetary awards. Acadia was fined the most significant amount compared to the other companies fined.
