Permit Patrol: 8 April 2011

Fresh from winning their first Dove Award from the Gospel Music Association, veteran bluegrass artists Jamie Dailey and Darrin Vincent have sued the Brentwood accounting firm where they were clients for less than two years.

In their suit filed Tuesday in Davidson County Chancery Court, Dailey and Vincent say an employee at Rayburn Bates & Fitzgerald embezzled almost $70,000 that should have gone to pay 2010 taxes and didn’t pay bills to their record label, booking agents and others in the music business. The duo also says the firm hasn’t stepped up to pay their tax tab since finding out about the transgressions.
