Pinnacle’s Turner joins calls for second PPP wave

Pinnacle Financial Partners CEO Terry Turner on Thursday afternoon pressed federal lawmakers to come to a compromise on COVID-19 relief that includes an expansion of the Payroll Protection Program run by the U.S. Small Business Administration.

In a commentary posted on Pinnacle’s website, the veteran leader of the largest bank based in Nashville lauded the SBA for quickly ramping up the PPP program, which allocated $350 billion to help small businesses, and processing more than a million loan approvals in less than two weeks — even if there was frustration and confusion at many points along the way.
