Southern Land names residential marketing VP

Southern Land Company has recruited a 20-year veteran of the homebuilding and real estate business to oversee the marketing of its master-planned communities across the country.

Jan Cooper has joined Southern Land — which recently moved its home office to the Vertis building it developed in Green Hills — as vice president of residential single-family marketing. The company has during its history developed 22 large projects, including Westhaven in Franklin, and officials said they are looking to buy land for more. Among Cooper’s early tasks, Southern Land said Monday, is helping analyze and develop marketing programs for new projects, including in Denver.
