Germantown site sells for $5.5M in per-foot record deal

A Germantown site eyed for a mixed-use building has sold for $5.5 million — more than 14 times the mark for which it last sold seven years ago and seemingly a per-foot dollar amount record for raw land in the north side district.

The new owner of the unimproved .87-acre site, the main address for which is 1231 Second Ave. N., is Philadelphia-based Greenpointe Construction. The website for that company, founded in 2009, is unclear as to development experience.
