UT overwhelms MTSU in Harper’s first NCAA tourney win

As is the case most nights, Middle Tennessee State’s Anastasia Hayes outscored every other player on the court in Sunday’s women’s NCAA Tournament opener against the No. 3 seed Tennessee Lady Volunteers.

Unfortunately for 14th-seeded MTSU, her game-high 26 points weren’t enough as UT pulled away in the second half for an 87-62 win to advance to the round of 32 and earn head coach Kellie Harper her first NCAA Tournament win as Lady Vols coach.
