Substance abuse treatment company AAC Holdings has acquired an online publisher of drug treatment content for $60 million.Through the deal, AAC Holdings subsidiaries American Addiction Centers and Sober Media Group have purchased Referral Solutions Group and Taj Media for $35 million in cash and $25 million in stock, according to a release.The senior management team and more than 60 employees of Referral Solutions and Taj Media will join the AAC team. The companies, founded in 2009 and 2007 respectively, publish substance abuse website content and digital marketing assets. The two companies generated combined revenue of about $13 million and adjusted EBITDA of about $5.2 million in 2014."In addition to being a leading treatment provider, AAC is an innovative marketing company," Michael Cartwright, AAC chairman and CEO, said in the release. "This strategic acquisition augments our marketing capabilities, establishes us as an Internet presence in the addiction treatment industry and advances the growth of our national brand."Brentwood-based AAC went public last October. Since then, the company has announced several acquisitions and expects a bed count of more than 1,200 by the end of 2016."We are more than doubling our bed capacity in the near term," Cartwright said. "As a result, we want to significantly increase our inbound demand from consumers seeking treatment. Acquiring Referral Solutions Group and Taj Media accomplishes this objective immediately and provides a platform that reaches millions. Substantially increasing our marketing capabilities with an aligned management team and the ability to materially reduce our future marketing spend is a strong investment that helps solidify out ability to fill new beds and sustain our continued growth."Shares of AAC (Ticker: AAC) were up 3.3 percent Monday morning to $46.23. Year to date, they're up nearly 50 percent.
