Public-private startup group names permanent CEO

Van Tucker

Launch Tennessee has named local entrepreneur Van Tucker its CEO.

Tucker was previously interim CEO and joined the public-private partnership in January as COO. She took over as interim CEO in July upon the departure of Margaret Dolan.

Prior to joining Launch Tennessee, she was a co-founder of the Nashville Fashion Alliance and Avenue Bank.

As interim CEO, Tucker oversaw the first virtual 36|86 Festival, one of the organization’s most public-facing endeavors.

“LaunchTN is an integral part of Tennessee’s entrepreneurial landscape and our economic development efforts,” Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe said in a release. “Van has proven herself to be the clear choice to lead LaunchTN and accelerate the organization’s impact on our state’s thriving startup ecosystem. I look forward to seeing the great ways Van’s leadership will steer LaunchTN’s efforts moving forward.”
