Sony Nashville promotes marketing exec

Sony Music Nashville Chairman and CEO Randy Goodman has named Jennifer Way senior vice president of marketing four years after she joined the label group as senior director.

In her new role, Way will oversee all of the artist, brand partnerships and creative marketing efforts for Sony Nashville, which comprises the Arista, Columbia and RCA Nashville labels. Since joining Sony from Universal Music Group in December 2016 — where she had worked 11 years and rose to manager of marketing and artist development — she has led marketing campaigns for Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley and Kane Brown, among others.

“Jen has exhibited an understanding of and the ability to adapt to the changing nature of the market and its impact on what marketing needs to look like in the future,” Goodman said in a statement. “That’s never been more vital than it is right now.”

Way, who earned a bachelor’s degree in music business/management from the Berklee College of Music, also has worked on Sony Music’s international projects in recent years. The company’s local operations are based in the 1201 Demonbreun tower in The Gulch.
