A detailed color imaged of a five-story boutique hotel building being planned for Main Street in East Nashville has been submitted to the Metro Development and Housing Agency, as the team looking to undertake the project preps to appear before the agency’s design review committee Tuesday, Dec. 3, to seek concept approval.
The hotel will sit at 916 Main St., near Edley’s Bar-B-Que and The Filling Station.
Construction documents submitted to Metro show the hotel property would offer 12 four-bedroom units and 12 one-bedroom units. In addition, retail space and a 20-space parking area under the main part of the building would be included. The working name, according to the documents, is 916 Main Street Hotel.
Mark McDonald, a partner with Oldacre McDonald, teams with business partner Mark McGinley to oversee M Cubed Developments, with that entity to handle the project via an LLC. It has enlisted Powell Architecture + Building Studio to handle design services and Thomas & Hutton for engineering work, according to the documents submitted to Metro. Both are based on the east side.
The property sits within the agency’s East Bank Redevelopment District and, as such, MDHA Design Review Committee approval is needed.
Main Street recently saw the opening of boutique hotel Fieldhouse Jones, with Bridal Suites (a short-term rental focused hospitality building) soon to open.
